We do not think that tourist oriented places are bad, but we usually do not spend much time at them. The top picture is the London Eye - we walked by it, It seems too Disneyland for us. The next picture is as close as we got to Blarney Castle in Ireland - I have no need to kiss the stone (ask anyone). And, we were sure that we would skip the gondola ride in Venice. However, being thrifty (read cheap) we had paid for it in a package so we took one anyway. If you miss the gondola, it is fine. Spend the money on a bottle of wine and watch the sunset from the Accademia Bridge over the Grand Canal.
