Spending Money

When we were on safari in Africa, the native villages sold wonderful crafts but asked for American dollars. We carried stacks of very crisp one dollar bills for trading. They did not want worn bills. They would accept fives if crisp. Not hard to do.

When we first went to Europe twenty years ago, the Euro was worth $1.56. The exchange rate was a little tough. As I write this the Euro is only worth $1.05 and may be equal (1 to 1) when our planned trip to Europe happens this summer.
