Ten years ago we sent nearly a week in the Italian Alps, the Dolomites of South Tyrol. It is one of my favorite places in Europe. We are saddened to hear of the deaths caused by the collapse of the glacier in Marmolada. The mountains are beautiful, but not without risk. The driving, for me, was the biggest challenge. It is a wonderland and a great place to hike. Sorry to hear that those going for the grandeur have lost their lives or were injured.
