Monte Gordo, Portugal

        One of the prettiest beaches I have been to is on the coast of Portugal at Monte Gordo. My Spanish tells me that the name means 'fat mountain' or 'large mountain'. I never saw a mountain. I guess I should have turned around, but my eyes were on the sea and the white sand. We had lunch there at a place which might be characterized as a fish shack, but was very nice.
