On several of our trips we
have been out of the country on the Fourth of July. One memorable one was while
we were staying in Crail on the Scottish Coast. A young college woman from San
Diego State was also at the B&B. At breakfast he glided up to our table and
looking around, whispered and giggled, "Happy Independence Day".
When we were in
Normandy we missed the Fourth again but waited ten days until celebrating
Bastille Day - Le Fete Nationale - in Honfleur. Fireworks and parades.
