WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Cool pictures are not always hard to take

These are three un-doctored photos that I took in South Africa. I was pretty impressed with myself for taking them. But, the truth is that the animals are what make these pictures cool and the animals are everywhere. They may be under threat, but they are willing to pose for people who are not going to shoot them. The hard part is getting to them if you live in Northern California. They are about 25 hours away by air. It is not cheap. But, most of all you have to want to go and then figure out how to do it. The actual pictures are the easy part.
