WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Here on the West coast of the Irish Republic is Muckross House, Gardens and traditional farms  It is in County Kerry not far from Killarney. It sits next to two lochs (lakes) in Killarney National Park. The top photo is of the manor house and the bottom photo was taken from the veranda of the house. You can see a horse drawn buggy at center-right.
This house and green surroundings are emblematic of the Emerald Isle. Happy St. Patrick's day to everyone including those of us wearing ORANGE today as a symbol of our genesis in the United Kingdom's Northern Ireland.
