WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Favorite Cities in Europe

Granddaughter Sarah Boehringer atop Montmartre, Paris
Every time we fly to Europe we try and have our layovers or changes of planes in Paris. We like Paris. We don't know all of the city, but we can do well in the center. Of course, the airport is not actually in Paris. It is 60 Euros from the Louvre and a little more across the Seine to the Eiffel Tower.
Second on my favorites is Verona, Italy probably tied with Prague. Wait, where should I put London? I really like London. I know the center city well and it is walkable with a bus pass. You do well making a long stop in London. There are plenty more and I am open to debating. For example, I could easily spend a month in Kenmare, Ireland or Budapest - a magnificent city.
