The best adventures are those that contain surprises. There are wonders to be discovered by getting lost in the Highlands of Scotland or on the back roads of New England. There may just be a chance to meet a special character who changes your life. In ancient times these were sometimes known as angels.
WELCOME
This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Near St. Stephan's Green, Dublin
The bottom three photos of are the lovely park, St. Stephan's Green, in Dublin. The first photo is of a shopping mall near there. The mall is glass and iron and amazing. It was so pretty that you wanted to look at it rather than the things to buy. We had lunch there overlooking the Green from the mall windows. I do not remember what we ate -- too busy drinking in the scenery.

Marietta McLellan's Photo - What?
This photo at first looks like a picture of a church taken through a fence. It is not what it seems at first. It is an old church reflected in a new glass building. The picture was taken from the top of a double decked bus in Glasgow, Scotland UK.

Great Restaurant - Pretty City
Rausch Restaurant in Feldkirsh Austria -
Feldkirsh Austria
This was a double surprise. We just stopped in the town as it was on the way to Liechtenstein and then we looked for a place for dinner. We rated this one of the best meals we have had anywhere and it was not very expensive. The house wine was fair, but the food - ah!

The Rev. Dr. Mike McLellan on top of the world
Picture of the top of the cable-lift at La Villa, Alta Badia, South Tyrol, Italy. Alt. ca. 7,500 feet which is not as high as some of the passes for auto travel.
