WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

When Summer Is Not Summer

July and August are considered warm months. They are times for T-Shirts and shorts. The top photo is a group of kids in South African in July. Note that all but one is bundled up with sweatshirts and more. July is Winter in this area.

The second photo shows a San Francisco landmark. People travel out to California in the summertime and most of it is hot. Not San Francisco. The ocean brings in cool air. The sweatshirt people make most of their money then. It is not t-shirt and flip-flop weather. Come to California to be prepared for hot and almost cold weather.
