WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Cemetery On The Banks of The River Shannon, Ireland

I like cemeteries. Some of my favorite ones are in Ireland and Scotland. It may be the Celtic crosses which I like so much. I am not afraid of cemeteries which is likely because of my work over the years. They are places of remembering and of history. They are the logical places of memorial. They tell stories. And, they are almost always a well-kept green area even in the concrete of a city.
This photo is not touched up. It is how the cemetery looked in the overcast light of the day I was there. Nearly black and white, it is more just values of gray.
