WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

A trip to Central Europe

Charles Bridge, Prague, at night
October 2019: We flew Alaska Airlines from San Francisco International Airport to JFK in New York. After staying the night in an airport hotel, we rented a car and drove to New Milford Connecticut. We visited Mike's Sister and family and took a tour of  New England Colors. It was very good to see family. After nearly a week, we drove back to JFK where we had reservations for Business Class on Lufthansa Airlines to Prague (changing planes in Frankfurt).
We spent five days on our own before joining a Road Scholar Tour which took us around Prague and then down the Danube to five Capitols of Central Europe. After ten days we returned to Munich and set out on our own tour of Bavaria including Neuschwanstein Castle and the Dachau Prison Camp. We concluded on five days in Munich with a direct flight to SFO. If that sounds like most of a month - it is.
For 2020 we had to cancel trips to China and the Rain Forest of Panama.
