WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Paris is for lovers... so are Baghdad and Beirut

Friday night the peace was broken in the "city of lights" as it had been in other places hours before. There are people blaming the Bush Administration for destabilizing Iraq. Others blame British and French colonialism. Everyone seems to have an opinion. Blame is counter-productive. We are citizens of the world - not of our small section of it - and we need to evolve to a point where we see ourselves as global people whose job it is to make peace with the same passion as we make war.
