WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

At the foot of the Spanish Steps, Rome

At the foot of the Spanish Steps is a fountain. Water in the fountains is fresh so you can refill your bottles from where the water comes out. Thus, I took the above photo to show the crowds and the fountain. Then I saw the "Dior" signs in the windows at upper left, so I zoomed in on them. Following that I zoomed in on the crowds and what did I find?

...some pretty Italian (I guess they were Italian) women talking and two men walking by - the guys nearly falling over or wrenching their necks to check the ladies out. This is a favorite photo because it seemed so "Italian" to me. No accordion music, no spaghetti, just Italians being Italian. Hey, the women even hugged me - a total stranger.
