The Charles Bridge, Prague CZ


 

        This photo is of the tower one walks through to get on the Charles Bridge in Prague. It is famous as a pedestrian crossing of the river and a romantic place from which to view the city. A large number of sculptures line the span and a leisurely walk is encouraged by the view and the crowds. Like the Chain Bridge in Budapest and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco it is iconic. Verona has its own as does Florence and most cities located on a river. There is something special about linking two side of a body of water.
