WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Sunday is Church Day; The Cathedral at Caen, France

Every city has a cathedral and almost every cathedral has a rose window. Someday I will post photos of those windows all in one place. Our hotel in Caen was located just around the corner from this cathedral and we saw it every day for nearly a week. I do like visiting these churches, but I also use them as landmarks for knowing where I am as they rise high in the sky. They are easy to see and once I visit them, they become a beacon of my location. It seems fitting theologically as well as practically.
