WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

The difference of a few months: The Spanish Steps, Rome

Tradition is to sit on the Spanish steps and wait for romance. The steps are named for the Spanish Embassy which is located at the base of the steps. You will note that these photos from a difference time show you how difficult is is to climb the steps.  It is now illegal to sit on the steps in this COVID-19 World.  Many tourist spots are closed or changed due to the pandemic.
The Spanish Steps were a symbol more than a reality. All over the globe are symbols to the effect of the virus.
