WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Our first rented flat in Paris

Across the street

/
Outside the door

Our first Paris flat, a number of years ago, was right across the street from the Louvre. It made everything we wanted to visit close at hand. The second flat, a number of years later, was just around the corner from the Eiffel Tower and on the metro line, Not to judge, but they were very different neighborhoods. The first one was closer to food and vegetable markets and the second was a very short 1/2 block from the Seine. It pays to do your homework, although the central city is not that large. Google Earth is a big help.
