WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Kenmare Harbor, Kenmare, Ireland

Certainly, one of my favorite towns in the Irish Republic is Kenmare. It is a gateway to the Ring of Kerry and most pleasing. It is real Ireland. There are standing stones and ancient bridges. There are great pubs and a delightful downtown. One evening, while we were visiting our bed and breakfast owners Mary and John, we walked out to a small park on the bay. It was quiet and one might say romantic. The sun was setting over the Kerry hills to the West. A powerboat lay moored in the harbor. It was, as simple as it is, very memorable. We recommend it.
