This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Research vessel on Loch Ness Scotland

We went out on a research vessel that has been studying Loch Ness and, of course, looking for the monster. I was left with the impression that the skipper believes that sighting have been a combination of wind, wakes, and some large surgeon having made their way into the loch.
None-the-less, we were treated to driving the boat and using the sonar and other equipment.  The top photo details a cross section of the loch (lake) with gradual sides going down to a flat bottom. The bottom photo shows this very thing from a different angle.
We did take a photo of the cross wake which resembles the pictures of the multi-humped serpent. In the end, we decided that there is a monster because it is more fun than none at all. Besides, Nessie has not hurt anyone.
