WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Sculpture at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London

The Victoria and Albert Museum has a wonderful hallway with original sculptures, especially those of Rodin. But, as you travel around the museum you will also find lovely examples of other sculpture. Then, as you walk along a gangway from one area to another, you look down upon hundreds of art reproductions either modeled or cast from other famous art. There are many casket covers from famous graves, as well. In the bottom photo you see some of the fabulous copies including Michelangelo's David from the Academia in Florence.
While we love the British Museum and have returned to view it again, the Victoria and Alberta is filled with wonderful art.
