WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

A view of the Alcazar (Castle) in Seville Spain

The Alcazar in Seville is lovely.
An Alcazar is a Moorish or Muslim fortress. There is one at the Alhambra in Granada
and another in Seville. They are beautifully decorated.
This photo shows a tower seen through the trees at Seville. Seville is a great visit.
The Muslims held land in southern Spain and left behind some wonderful places.
Now: if you try to get tickets to visit the two Alcazars and are unable to do so, sign up for a guided tour.
The tour guides buy up the tickets. We had reservations in Granada but just got in line in Seville and were offered a guided tour with a group. Yes, you pay a little more than the ticket price.
There are a number of other photos in this blog.
