WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

The Green Highlands of Scotland

Surely everyone has known that Ireland is green. The Catholics wear green to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. But, this a plug for green of the Scottish Highlands. Taking a leisurely trip from Fort Augustus to Balmoral and then on to Edinburgh you will see lots of green. The highlands are lovely and there are lakes and rivers a plenty. The hills get a good deal of rain. Wherever you go you see the rolling  hills.  we have spent considerable time driving in both Ireland and Scotland. Both are beautiful.
Look closely to the center of the photo and you will see the railroad trestle featured in Harry Potter.
