WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

The Red Cars of Glacier National Park

Going-To-The-Sun Road crosses Glacier National Park and is well worth taking. It cuts across the park giving the visitor a delightful view of various aspects of this beautiful wilderness. A high pass and visitor's center marks the middle of the trip. But, more fun - especially for the driver - is taking one of the historic Red Cars along the road. A driver will miss a good deal as attention is demanded at every turn. The Red Cars are driven by people who serve a tour guides and share much knowledge. Try to sit toward the middle and next to a door for the best trip. Sitting in the back row means dealing with a lack of legroom due to the tire well.
