WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Italian Bulletin Train

We like to rent a car and drive from place to place. We have done it in many countries. I just rented a car in Spain. We are not starting out in a car, but in one of Europe's trains. We have taken trains in many countries, as well. Here, four years ago, is the train we took from Rome to Florence. We also took a train from Florence to Venice and then on to Verona. Going first class, you go fast and there are attendants serving wine and small bits. You cannot stop and make friends with folks at a fruit stand, but you get from point A to point B like ... a bullet.
