WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Art Galleries

We hit most of the art museums in the places we visit, but we also search out the commercial galleries. The local art tells you a good deal about the people, their values, their vision. An artist can only exist when people buy what he/she creates and thus the art is a mirror to the community. As well, the media tell you about the area. Murano has its glass and Spain its leather and England its ceramics. The photo above is of a gallery in Prescott Arizona where some talented folks work in a variety of media; these being made of wood.
