WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Never say never... Cruise down the Seine

I said that I would never take a cruise. That is now changed to ocean cruise. We took a long boat down the Seine from Paris to The Normandy coast in France and it was very nice.
Maybe it was the fact that we sailed mostly in the evening and went ashore during the day to see the cities and sights along the banks and inland. I usually drive a rental car and I realize now how much my passengers see and I miss. And, we did not have to hunt for a great restaurant for each meal. I could drink wine with lunch and not worry about driving somewhere.
The photo above is of some napkins on the bar of the ship.
