WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

The Royal Mile, Edinburgh

I am not sure how many times we have walked the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It extends from Holyrood Palace to the Castle. Each block has several things of interest. There are underground tours and a whisky sampling store. There is the Parliament Building and St. Giles Church. There are shops and cafes and much more. We also cross The Mound and see New Town. While there is much to see in the city, start with the Old Town and venture out.

O, the top photo is of a boar's head... the rest of which is carved into sandwiches. This is just up from the Parliament Building,
