WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

San Miniato, Florence Italy

San Miniato built in 1018 holds Gregorian Chants each afternoon.  It is across the Arno away from the city center on  a very high hill.  Great views of the city from here. It is above Piazzale Michelangelo. While some folks could walk it, it is better to use one of the low cost cabs. We took one and came back down by bus - although you must plan ahead and get your bus tickets before going as there are no places to by tickets up the hill, As a religion professional, I went early with an Italian acquaintance and attended mass (in Italian and Latin),
