WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Askari Game Preserve, South Africa

Three zebras out for a walk at Askari Game Preserve to the Northwest of Johannesburg, South Africa. On daily game drives we traveled in safari trucks to view the variety of animals there. There are a good variety of zebra, giraffes, impala, bucks, and wildebeests. The number of predators is not large and thus the herds grow stronger.  This is a different type of safari from those in Chobe National Park where less animal management is done.  It was fun to get close to some of these animals. Each one has a personality  as different as their stripes.
