WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Ferris Wheel

The sky of above the Ferris Wheel in Honfleur, France was looking like something was going on. It was Bastille Day, July 14 and we were looking forward to the fireworks over the water. We hoped that it would clear (it did).  The wheel was not large like the London Eye, but large enough. My wife and grand-daughter were up and I was watching from ground level. It was reported that the buckets had no seat belts and the door of their unit swung open when touched. By USA standards it was dangerous, but my family loved the experience as they could see the harbor and town very well. I do better on the ground with my camera in hand. I especially like the photo on the right
