WELCOME

This blog is about the adventure of traveling and especially the interesting people that you meet. We will share stories about people and places we have encountered from around the United States, Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Mexico, The Vatican, The Netherlands, Belgium, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and more. This is not a travelogue -- we leave that to Rick Steves -- this is a collection of fragments in the journey of life.

Places that I have visited so you don't have to.

Temple Bar is both an actual bar and an area of Dublin along the river. You can skip the beer bar and just take in the area around it. Make sure to conclude your walk by crossing the Half Penny Bridge.

At the Louvre, skip the Mona Lisa - you already saw it on the internet and it is better there. Skip too Venus and Winged Victory although it is hard to skip Winged Victory as you have to walk by it. Look for art treasures were no one else is in the way.

In Florence, wait until the Rialto Bridge is closed and then walk crossed it. You do not need more jewelry anyway. At 11 o'clock at night, the pig in the market does not have a line, by the way,

The London Eye is interesting, but the time spent in Westminster Abbey is more worth it. We also encourage religious folks to worship on Sunday at  St. Martin In The Fields. (Trafalgar Square)

If you can trade one day in Vienna (a nice place) for Budapest, do.
